Head of the DEI Committee at Estarta Gives a Session on “Self-Awareness”

In light of International Women’s Day, a session was held by Amira ElAli, Head of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee at Estarta, at the Royal Automobile Club Amman. The session addressed self-awareness and self-empowerment, as well as touching on many pertinent issues. The session throughout emphasized the value of self-awareness as a key component of personal development. It touched on how important self-awareness is in both the professional and personal lives of working women as well as men and how it can influence our results, strengthen our capacity for decision-making, and increase our self-assurance. All of this naturally has a positive impact on the world. In addition to what was mentioned, the session also addressed how self-awareness leads to self-assessment, a crucial asset in the workplace. Overall, Estarta always strives to spread awareness when it comes to such issues.

Estarta’s International Women’s Day Event

Estarta had its annual International Women’s Day event on Friday, March 3rd, at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel. The evening was a huge success, filled with inspiring speeches, personal stories, and fun activities. The event took off at 7 p.m., with the people of Estarta socializing and mingling with each other. The MC and the Head of Public Relations and the Women Empowerment Committee, Amira ElAli, launched the event with a few words, setting the atmosphere for the night. The CEO, Mutaz AlNabulsi, and the Chairman, Laith AlMasri, followed suit with a few words of their own, expressing their appreciation and respect for the women of Estarta. Next, a couple of Estartan ladies shared personal stories of how the company has aided them in their lives, shining a light on the importance of female empowerment in the workplace. Estarta then awarded certificates to the most “influential female” on each team as a way of acknowledging and celebrating the successes of its female employees. After the certificate ceremony, the hotel hosted a delightful little coffee break for all the guests who had attended. The guests were able to network and connect with each other, sharing stories and more! To wrap up the evening, a fun and exciting trivia game was played, with three lucky winners receiving valuable prizes. However, every single woman at Estarta was a true winner that night, and this event was proof of their hard work, dedication, and triumphs. Overall, the Estarta Annual International Women’s Day event was a strong reminder of the importance of female empowerment and recognition in the work field. It was a night filled with celebration, admiration, and inspiration, and Estarta is proud to have such brilliant and competent women on board as a part of its family.

Estarta Welcomed Mrs. Hanan Khader

Estarta welcomed Mrs.Hanan Khader, a Jordanian serial entrepreneur who was selected in 2013 by the U.S. Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs as a Leader in Technology at the TechWomen organization, where she represented Jordan in Silicon Valley. In 2015, she founded her initiative “Hello World Kids”, the first educational organization specializing in teaching Computer and Mobile Programming to children between the ages of 6 and 12. After three years, she was able to enroll her curriculum in more than 70 public and private schools for 36,000 Jordanian students. Moreover, Mrs. Hanan is very active and enthusiastic about inspiring and motivating women and girls in the STEM field to stand for a new mission in their lives and in their society. The event was held under the joint project “Estars” between Estarta and the GIZ regional program ‘Economic Integration of Women in the MENA Region’ (EconoWin). The program is part of a special initiative designed to stabilize and promote development in North Africa and the Middle East and is run by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Represented by its CEO, Dr. Mutaz H. Nabulsi, Estarta participated in the first regional conference on Cyber Diplomacy and Governance: Opportunities, Challenges, and Ways Forward for the Arab Countries, organized by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, the Jordanian National Centre for Cyber Security, and the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House), May 17th, 2022, Jordan. With the number of threats increasing in cyberspace, many countries are in the process of developing their internet policies and are part of the ongoing UN negotiations on the issue of security in the use of ICTs. Multiple sessions covered numerous points, such as cyber capacity building principles and how they can be operationalized in regional contexts. How can Arab countries work through and with international and regional organizations to build confidence? Also, what is the role of the private sector and other non-governmental stakeholders in building cyber capacity and implementing confidence-building measures? Dr. Nabulsi covered capacity-building and confidence-building measures for cyberspace, focusing on public-private partnerships, diversity, and inclusion’s importance in providing needed resources in the Cyber security space. He also emphasized the importance of the partnership between the private and public sectors and how they should cooperate to draw up a road map of collaboration to ensure a secure environment.

Estarta Celebrates the 11th Anniversary of Girls in ICT

Estarta recognizes International Girls in ICT Day, which was held on April 28, 2022. A discussion panel was held and hosted by passionate and talented female engineers who have been working in the field for multiple years in various departments and positions. It was presented by Amira ElAli, PR and Communications Manager. The Panel members were: Bilcais Elbargathi, Technical Consulting Engineer, IPCC Team Heba Al Dawood, Project Manager, PMO Team Heba Habashneh, Presales Technical Specialist/War Room Team Esraa Al Tamimi, Team Manager/Switching Team Layan Khader, Technical Consulting Engineer, AAA Team Hebah Habashneh, Technical Consulting Engineer, ACI Team Dima Shaltaf, HR officer in the Talent Acquisition team. The team shared their story, the challenges they faced working in the ICT sector, and how they overcame those challenges and gained the knowledge that made them able today to send a message to all the young girls struggling out there to pursue careers enabled by technology and study STEAM fields. On the other hand, Dima Shaltaf highlighted the notable increment in female applicants and added, “It is also worth mentioning that Estarta believes in equality and proves this by not showing gender prejudice in recruitment and the wage gap. We are now proud to say that we have a percentage of 46% female employees, and our numbers are increasing day by day!” “We are living in a digital world where social networks are very important,” said Amira ElAli, PR and Communications Manager. “We at Estarta ensure gender equality between men and women with the aim to raise awareness and highlight Estarta’s supportive management that invests in our females and in their development in the ICT field. We are lucky to be part of this organization where males empower females, working mothers, and help in having a work-life balance environment,” Amira ElAli added.

Estarta X JOITED Event: Jordanian Pavilion of EXPO2020 Dubai

The Information and Communication Technology Association in Jordan (Int@j) participates within the Jordanian pavilion at Expo 2020 in Dubai, which will be hosting an event titled Jordanian Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship in Dubai (JOITED which will be held for 5 days from February 21st to 25th. Dr. Mutaz H. Nabulsi, representing Estarta, moderated a discussion session on Jordanian IT talents and their role in making Jordan an ITO/BPO International Hub. This event will provide a platform for communication and networking between more than 150 participating Jordanian companies and many Emirati and international companies and agencies currently present at Expo 2020, with the aim of highlighting the distinguished Jordanian talents and companies in the technology and information sectors.
