On Thursday, June 8, the Tafila Skills’ Development Center, with which Estarta is partnered, celebrated the graduation of its second batch, which was entirely comprised of outstanding, bright ladies. Estarta, which is dedicated to promoting skill development, enabling individuals, and establishing a culture of perpetual learning, collaborated with the center to empower people in the southern Jordanian region. The graduation ceremony was a special moment in the center’s constant efforts to uplift the paths of its students. The Tafila Skills’ Development Center has been delivering high-quality training programs for numerous people, with a special focus on women, under the leadership and support of Estartan trainers, helping them to acquire valuable skills and knowledge! On the road to their training, the second group of alumni showed dedication and resolve, becoming certified professionals. The graduation ceremony provided a platform to honor their accomplishments and recognize their enormous potential. It also ended with many of the graduates signing contracts with Estarta, which was a huge plus for both parties.

Estarta Attends Women on the Front Lines

Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Bisher Al-Khasawneh, the Prime Minister of Jordan, the May Chidiac Foundation hosted the “Women on the Front Lines” event at the Fairmont Hotel, Amman, which Estarta’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee attended. This 1-day conference took place on Monday, May 22nd. The several panels held throughout the day did wonders to highlight the remarkable accomplishments of women everywhere, and especially in the region. Topics covered include women in politics, education, careers, revolutions, environmental issues, cinema and TV series’, artificial intelligence (AI), and more! It was truly eye-opening to listen to so many inspirational, bright, and exceptional ladies. Their stories, knowledge, and ideas were great to hear, especially from such a diverse group of amazing women coming from many different places. Of the panelists and guests, there were ladies from Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and more, covering quite a large portion of the globe! Many notable speakers were in attendance, including Princess Basma Bint Ali. Overall, Estarta was delighted to witness such a thrilling and rich evening, helped by many powerful voices.

Estarta hosted an award ceremony for the students who have successfully completed the “Software QA Training: Manual Testing” course given by our very own Professional Services and Solutions department! We were especially proud to see an overwhelming female majority among the students. As an ICT company that cares about promoting “women’s empowerment,” this ceremony really cemented our core values. The students have all successfully passed the “Software QA Training: Manual Testing” course with flying colors and were thus awarded certificates in recognition of their fine achievements. Estarta regularly holds training courses, whether for employees, university students, or any interested, qualified individual. This training course was only one of many. As for May, the Professional Services and Solutions department will be providing potential candidates with the chance to apply for a “Java Development Training Program.” We look forward to seeing what comes next.

Estarta is pleased to have had the chance to celebrate International Girls in ICT Day with bright young students from Al Manhal School! The next generation of women in this day and age needs to be enabled for more, and Estarta is committed to encouraging them to work in the IT field. We hosted an educational seminar covering women in the IT sector at the event, as well as a well-rounded tour of our company. It was stimulating to see the interest and enthusiasm these young ladies displayed, and we feel proud to have aided their road to professional success in the business world. The students played an active role during the session and asked many thought-provoking questions. As a leading IT company, with almost 50% of the staff body consisting of females, it was especially great to see so many promising young ladies. Estarta is perpetually keen on enabling females in general, as women’s empowerment, diversity, and inclusion are quite important to our organization.

Head of the DEI Committee at Estarta Gives a Session on “Self-Awareness”

In light of International Women’s Day, a session was held by Amira ElAli, Head of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee at Estarta, at the Royal Automobile Club Amman. The session addressed self-awareness and self-empowerment, as well as touching on many pertinent issues. The session throughout emphasized the value of self-awareness as a key component of personal development. It touched on how important self-awareness is in both the professional and personal lives of working women as well as men and how it can influence our results, strengthen our capacity for decision-making, and increase our self-assurance. All of this naturally has a positive impact on the world. In addition to what was mentioned, the session also addressed how self-awareness leads to self-assessment, a crucial asset in the workplace. Overall, Estarta always strives to spread awareness when it comes to such issues.

Estarta’s International Women’s Day Event

Estarta had its annual International Women’s Day event on Friday, March 3rd, at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel. The evening was a huge success, filled with inspiring speeches, personal stories, and fun activities. The event took off at 7 p.m., with the people of Estarta socializing and mingling with each other. The MC and the Head of Public Relations and the Women Empowerment Committee, Amira ElAli, launched the event with a few words, setting the atmosphere for the night. The CEO, Mutaz AlNabulsi, and the Chairman, Laith AlMasri, followed suit with a few words of their own, expressing their appreciation and respect for the women of Estarta. Next, a couple of Estartan ladies shared personal stories of how the company has aided them in their lives, shining a light on the importance of female empowerment in the workplace. Estarta then awarded certificates to the most “influential female” on each team as a way of acknowledging and celebrating the successes of its female employees. After the certificate ceremony, the hotel hosted a delightful little coffee break for all the guests who had attended. The guests were able to network and connect with each other, sharing stories and more! To wrap up the evening, a fun and exciting trivia game was played, with three lucky winners receiving valuable prizes. However, every single woman at Estarta was a true winner that night, and this event was proof of their hard work, dedication, and triumphs. Overall, the Estarta Annual International Women’s Day event was a strong reminder of the importance of female empowerment and recognition in the work field. It was a night filled with celebration, admiration, and inspiration, and Estarta is proud to have such brilliant and competent women on board as a part of its family.

Estarta Crowns Team FC Mix as the Football Winner

Estarta Solutions finished its prime event of awareness for the month of November as a part of movember campaign to highlight the importance of mental and physical health for its Gents employees. The campaign consisted of multiple activities with the football league being the main event; it had multiple playoffs, quarter, semi and final games which the Team FC Mix was crowned for as the champion of for the year 2021. The League created great memories and contributed to a healthy sportsmanship between the players and employees in addition to a much-needed exercise and team activity after such a great year in work and commitment.  The final match had a noticeable enthusiasm and was attended by employees who cheered for their colleagues as well as the management team who were there to support and encourage such positive activities that highlights the mental and physical health and the importance of sports and exercise for our gents employees whether done individually or collectively as a team. We Would like to thank our employees for making this league a memorable one for all of us.

Estarta Welcomed Mrs. Hanan Khader

Estarta welcomed Mrs.Hanan Khader, a Jordanian serial entrepreneur who was selected in 2013 by the U.S. Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs as a Leader in Technology at the TechWomen organization, where she represented Jordan in Silicon Valley. In 2015, she founded her initiative “Hello World Kids”, the first educational organization specializing in teaching Computer and Mobile Programming to children between the ages of 6 and 12. After three years, she was able to enroll her curriculum in more than 70 public and private schools for 36,000 Jordanian students. Moreover, Mrs. Hanan is very active and enthusiastic about inspiring and motivating women and girls in the STEM field to stand for a new mission in their lives and in their society. The event was held under the joint project “Estars” between Estarta and the GIZ regional program ‘Economic Integration of Women in the MENA Region’ (EconoWin). The program is part of a special initiative designed to stabilize and promote development in North Africa and the Middle East and is run by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Estarta Participates in Conference for Cyber Diplomacy and Governance

Regional Conference for Cyber Diplomacy and Governance

Represented by its CEO, Dr. Mutaz H. Nabulsi, Estarta participated in the first regional conference on Cyber Diplomacy and Governance: Opportunities, Challenges, and Ways Forward for the Arab Countries, organized by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, the Jordanian National Centre for Cyber Security, and the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House), May 17th, 2022, Jordan. With the number of threats increasing in cyberspace, many countries are in the process of developing their internet policies and are part of the ongoing UN negotiations on the issue of security in the use of ICTs. Multiple sessions covered numerous points, such as cyber capacity building principles and how they can be operationalized in regional contexts. How can Arab countries work through and with international and regional organizations to build confidence? Also, what is the role of the private sector and other non-governmental stakeholders in building cyber capacity and implementing confidence-building measures? Dr. Nabulsi covered capacity-building and confidence-building measures for cyberspace, focusing on public-private partnerships, diversity, and inclusion’s importance in providing needed resources in the Cyber security space. He also emphasized the importance of the partnership between the private and public sectors and how they should cooperate to draw up a road map of collaboration to ensure a secure environment.

Estarta X JOITED Event: Jordanian Pavilion of EXPO2020 Dubai

Expo

The Information and Communication Technology Association in Jordan (Int@j) participates within the Jordanian pavilion at Expo 2020 in Dubai, which will be hosting an event titled Jordanian Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship in Dubai (JOITED which will be held for 5 days from February 21st to 25th. Dr. Mutaz H. Nabulsi, representing Estarta, moderated a discussion session on Jordanian IT talents and their role in making Jordan an ITO/BPO International Hub. This event will provide a platform for communication and networking between more than 150 participating Jordanian companies and many Emirati and international companies and agencies currently present at Expo 2020, with the aim of highlighting the distinguished Jordanian talents and companies in the technology and information sectors.
