Girls in ICT day Competition

1. Criteria

Creativity and Originality

• Unique and innovative ideas.
• Distinctive approach to the chosen theme.
• Original content and design elements.

Functionality and Usability

• Proper implementation of core features.
• Ease of navigation and user interaction.
• Compatibility across different devices (mobile, tablet, desktop).
• Performance and responsiveness.

Design and User Experience

• Aesthetic appeal and visual coherence.
• Intuitive user interface (UI).
• Accessibility considerations (e.g., color contrast, font readability).

Relevance to the Chosen Theme – Competition Theme: Encouraging Tourism in Jordan

• Clear alignment with the selected theme.
• Effective communication of the theme through design and features.
• Projects should creatively promote Jordan as a travel destination.
• Showcase cultural heritage, historical sites, natural beauty, or local experiences.
• Innovative approaches that engage tourists and highlight Jordan’s uniqueness are encouraged.

Tools or Platforms to Be Used

• Website submissions: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress, Wix, or similar.
• App submissions: MIT App Inventor, Thunkable, Scratch, or beginner-friendly mobile development tools.
• Open-source or freely available tools are recommended.

Submission Format and Guidelines

• Websites: Submit a zip file with HTML/CSS/JS files or a link to the hosted website.
• Apps: Submit an APK file, a project file from the development platform, or a shareable link.
• Send to : info@estarta.com with the title “Girls in ICT day competition”

A brief (max 1-page) document explaining:

o The idea behind the project.

o Tools used.

o Features and functionalities.

o Challenges faced and how they were overcome.

2. Participation terms

• The Competition is for Jordanian school girls from grades 9 – 11
• Submission Deadline: April 25th, 2025
• Awards will be 100 JDs for each winner + 1 week training at Estarta
• The number of winners is 3
• The total of the awards are 300 JDs for each of the 3 winners + 1 week training at Estarta
•  If the winner is outside Amman the training can be online.

3. Evaluation Process

• A panel of judges consisting of technical experts.
• Each project will be scored based on the criteria above.
• The top three winners will be selected based on the highest overall scores.
